†...Afternoon Ms.Christine...†
As usual you did not address the issue, but instead attempted to side- step and dismiss it by attempting to discredit me in your opening statement. I suppose it could be said that what was illogical about my thinking, was that I thought...... you would have been more fair.
You suggested in a previous post, the following I could trot out my very impressive statistics on gun violence and child deaths.
I suggested that you zero in on America, and do a comparison study within our own borders. America before 1960 and America after 1960.
I wrote: Why don't you do that Christine. It would be very interesting to make the comparison. America before 1960, and America after 1960! Start around 1900 Christine and go up to 1960. Give us the stats on just how many school aged children murdered or injured other school children Let's keep it that narrow, since school aged children is the issue. Also if it's not too much trouble check out the stats on how many children under the age of 18 murdered anyone at all. Of course keeping in mind that only those murdered with guns and/or rifles should be considered, legal or otherwise.
ISSUE To consider whether or not gun control laws in the good old US of A has had any effect at all on the rate of murders committed by school-aged children.
Or do you think we even need a formal comparison study at all? I think not.
Your presentation of the Associated Press article was not in the least germane to the issue at hand.
Also as usual Christine, you misrepresented my position by attributing to me something I never even considered.
You wrote: I am, however, curious as to how a man who represents himself as devout could defend seriously that the ready access to handguns and semi-automatic weapons we have in America represents any kind of positive spiritual value at all.
That is a totally erroneous assumption on your part Christine, and you know it is,. Please bring to my attention the post in which I, as you have stated, "Defend seriously that the ready access to handguns and semi-automatic weapons we have in America represents any kind of positive spiritual value at all." Try as you might Suga, but you will come up empty. And spiritual value? What is it you know of spiritual value? Would you like to share it?
And as to this statement of yours: I believe that if Jesus were alive in America today, in fact, he would be at the forefront of the movement to restrict them.
You continue to speak of that which you know not. You know nothing of the truth of my Lord Jesus. You have done nothing to elevate Him to His rightful place, and to the contrary you have attempted only to debase and dethrone Him, and that's only in the case, in your words, if He existed at all. Now you see fit to use him in support of your flaccid position. Have you no shame Christine?
Let me enlighten you; Christ not only existed Ms. Bartley, but to the dismay of many, He still does!; 1. Jesus is alive! 2. He is in America, even today still! BUT 3. Would you recognize Him if you saw Him? And 4. Would it matter to you?
Christine you really do not have to post the answers to these questions, not even to the question at issue. But just ask them of yourself.
I must say Christine, you are quite an imperious character. You also seem to be running low, very low, on sincerity and compassion, so I think it is better for us both to just agree to disagree.
I take the work I do for God my Father very serious, and my time is very limited here, so it is better for me to use it wisely, as I will be held accountable for every idle word.
Have a good day Shalom...><>
