The Right Company At The Right Time

As most of you know, at one time I used to help promote small venture capital companies. A venture capital company being a small start up company with a good product and good management. All these companies needed was an infusion of capital and they would have a fighting chance to become a major player in their industry.

That sounds good and it was good until it became too good. Whenever anything becomes too good the soft shoe people come sneaking in and things start turning around. The soft shoe people I am talking about are both stock promoters who have no real interest in anything buy making money and would be working with a mining company one month and then switch to a water company the next. What ever was hot was grist for their mill.

There is also a whole cadre of market makers who are only interested in stealing money from investors and when I say stealing I mean just that. Selling stock that you don't own is a crime, especially when you have no intention of ever covering your short position. It was the market makers who finally drove me out of the venture capital market. Or to be more exact it was the failure of NASD to put a rein on these robbers that made me finally toss in the towel. But I keep watching the industry because I like investing in a $1 stock that a year later is trading at $15.

Recent I found a small gold exploration company that impressed me a great deal and the more I investigated the company the more I like it. I've take a position in the company and because the managers of the company are willing to fight the market makers and are personally committed to the success of the company I decided to share the information with you. The name of the company is Medinah Mining and it trades on the Bulletin Board under the symbol MDIN.

MDIN is a gold exploration company that is working in the gold fields of Chile. The currently have two properties that they are proving out by drilling test holes. These tests reveal large gold and copper deposits with assay results running up to 46.58 grams per ton from near surface drilling. These are great numbers and strongly suggest that this will prove out to be an economically viable mining operation.

The reason I like gold mining companies is because as the drilling progresses and more and more excellent results are published the price of the stock rises on the expectations raised of a successful gold mine. When the price of an exploration gold mine takes off they look like internet stocks.

And finally, I like the company because the management people are not promoters that are business men who are committed to the success of the company. They proved this commitment recently by attacking the market makers who were shorting the stock. The company has declared a stock dividend to all share holders of record. If the market makers don't cover their shorts those investors who are holding these phantom shares will not get the dividend. You can imagine how that will sit with these innocent shareholders. The market makers will have to cover the shorts or get run out of town.... preferably tarred and feathered.

Medinah has their own website at medinahenergy.com. We will complete a link to their site next week. In the mean time look at the site and consider the stock.
