Iomega--a joke a company--an even worse joke of a return policy
Sad to say but true. I just experienced the "Click of Death", and Dell promptly sent out a tech to install another Zip drive. As most people on this thread know, any Zip disk, which has been "exposed" to the Zip Drive that has subsequently experienced the "Click of Death" must no longer be used in the new Zip drive or else there is a possibility that the new drive will also experience the COD.
OK, Iomega has a policy of replacing any disk that has been exposed. Big deal. The absolutely asinine part of their stupid ass policy is that I need to return the exposed disks before Iomega will send me the new disks. That is not only outright goofy, it is incredibly stupid, and arrogant. I have 28 Zip disks that are chock full of information. What the hell am I supposed to do with the info? Obviously I need to copy all of the information onto a new Zip disk, but I need to send in these disks to get the new disks. Moreover, the clowns at Iomega are essentially encouraging me to spread this virus by going to my local Kinkos and copying the infected disk to a hard drive and then recopying the disk to a clean Zip disk, which may very well become contaminated any way due to the fact that I have already used my contaminated disks in the drive. In short, I will be losing over 20 Zip disks of information.
That is a hell of a lot of info. Plain and simple, Jodie Glore needs to get his deeply imbedded head out of his ass and respect the fact that the inputting of information represents a tremendous effort for many people, and that Iomega should make every effort to help people retain that information. How? Iomega needs to devise a program for customers whereby the information from those Zip disks that can be read is transferred to "clean" Zip disks and sent back to the customer. It's time for Jodie and company to get their head out of their ass, stop the blathering about quality service, and truly take the time and effort to deliver good service to customers. Currently this company is a disgrace, and I am truly embarrassed to actually own stock in this horror.
Color me furious and outraged over the garbage performance of this joke of a company. |
