The highlight of my day was installing my new
Texas license sticker on the lower left interior
corner of my windshield. It's an awkward spot
to work in, with removing the old sticker being
the biggest challenge. But with a good thumbnail
and a Windex-soaked paper towel, I succeeded.

Last year's sticker had a large "99", but the new
sticker has a medium-size "2000". I'm wondering
if the State of Texas thought that "00" might be
as confusing to us drivers as it is to computers.

And that raises a larger question -- after the
Eighties and Nineties, has anyone decided what
we'll call the next decade?

The Naughties?
