Dear Richard. RE my post #33765 last night ("In the immortal words of Rodney King: 'Can't we all just get along?'") to which you replied in your post #33771 ("Absolutely not. He started it. I will not let wallflowers advise me on what to do in defending a man's honor."). Richard, my post was an ironic comment on the situation. Scanshift was trying to portray himself as an innocent -- just as the press tried to portray Rodney King as an innocent victim of the LA police. Only later did the public find out that Rodney King was a scumbag. You saw through Scanshift's shenanigans immediately, and that pleased me. Like you, I know that one's reputation is priceless.
After reading so many posts from thread regulars like yourself, I feel I know you and tend to forget that you don't know me. I should have explained that the joke was an allusion and am sorry it fell flat. I would have apologized earlier if someone named Bruce Denney hadn't posted this reply: "Hell no ... and its [sic] time to bring out your frigging pos pig for this thread." Denney's ugly language and malicious message stunned me into silence for the day.
My only reason for signing up for SI was to join Anthony's private site. I'm more than willing to pay for my education from a master like him. Hope you'll forgive me for opening my mouth. Now back to wallflower status. MaryMapes.
