At one time there were margins in the 3D high performance
graphics engines. Now that there are N PC chip companies
making chips there are no longer margins. Sun can buy
the chips from ATI or whoever and put them in the low
end work stations. Sun adds value in the overall systems
archetecture, 64 bit CPU, dual PCI bus, dual SCSI bus.
Thats why they can get a larger margin than the PC screw
driver shops.
