Rande: Thanks again for your work on, and the good spirit of this thread. I believe it is quite unique. I think my situation and your response would be of interest to many of the less experienced investors on this thread. I have been incredibly lucky in my investments over the last three months, including a run of bad OTC BB stocks. I'm smart enough to know that luck is temporary and I need to nourish some skills and guidelines. I've just added Level 2 to my Web St. account ($79 mo- seems like it would pay for itself in one well-informed trade). I have read several books (most recently "Trading online" by Patel and "Elec. Day Trading" by Nassar). They are somewhat helpful and I would welcome any other suggestions from you and anyone else. I try to keep a long term (that seems to be 2-6 months for me) and a short term ( 1 day to 2 week momentum or swing trades)outlook with my investments. Although I work full time, I've managed to arrange my schedule to be free to trade the first and last hour of the market as well as a couple checks during the day. In fast moving stocks, I always place my sell and limit orders before leaving the computer. This has become a passionate hobby, admittedly somewhat intoxicating, but extremely enjoyable. I think it would be a realistic goal to work another 4-5 years (age 48 now) and then trade full-time. Since I expect to be working with a much larger trading balance by then, I know that I will need as much skill and experience as possible. Do you have suggestions for people like me that would like to learn more? Are there other threads or websites that you respect and value? Books? Classes or seminars? Hopefully there will be others that benefit from yours, William's and the more experienced posters on this thread. By the way and OT, I was delighted to see your connection to music.
