Neil,

It seems to me that the author of this article is ignoring the basic principle of Dell's business model - no inventory. That will not be the case if they are assembling SANs and other enterprise gear from other manufacturers' components. If my take on their agreement with BRCD is correct - it seems like they are leveraging their marketing and name recognition to get their OEM suppliers to keep prices low. Maybe that is an oversimplification, but if SANs are that easy to sell it also bodes well for other distributors with large customer bases - like CONSAN.
