I take issue with the WAY in which some viewers note errors.. as though it was malicious or that we don't care that a mistake was made.

As a viewer you have every right to expect fair and ACCURATE reporting. As human beings, WE have every right to have any errors that are made called to our attention in a civil manner.

Tyler happens to be one of the most competent and capable people I
have ever worked with... and I am proud to call him a colleague. If he made a mistake I can promise you he will corect it... and mistakes from Tyler are far and few between.

Clearly this was a mental arithmetic error made on the fly. With 10 years of anchoring at CNBC under my belt, more than 5 thousand hours on the air, I can tell you, with 50 pages of script in front of us, a teleprompter that sometimes is in not in synch with what we are reading, often a producer's voice in our ear at the same time we are speaking.. with a warning about a piece of tape that will not be ready.. coupled with the press of breaking news, an occasional error like that will happen. Yet it was highlighted as though it was some malicious attempt to "con" the audience. Clearly that is not the case.
