<By the way, you sound like you like the executions from Brown and Company. Could you give us some examples of your experiences with their executions. How long do they take? Is this with active stocks, or slower moving stocks? Market orders, or limit orders>
I almost always use limit orders for buys and some sells, market orders for other sells. Orders appear in seconds on level 2. Rarely more than 4 seconds, sometimes less. Buy limit orders at the bid nearly always fill. Reports come back very quickly, except in the first and last fifteen minutes of trading.
On fast market stocks, limit orders often fill, in most cases the report comes back quickly. In some rare instances 5 plus minutes elapse before you know where you were filled on very very fast moving stocks.
They are far from perfect, but they are quite good. I have been with them since 1989 so I know whereof I speak.
By the way, I do not seem to be able to end my italics, so if you could remind me how to do this, I would be grateful. |
