I can see the biased view of "city folk" in almost all the posts here. You don't need to travel anywhere else in the world. Drive across the midwest, the southwest, the Rockies and tell me how well your cell phone works. I'll spare you the drive--it doesn't work worth a damn. My phone worls only a short distance from my house, and from then on, nothing. I have money. I can afford a G* phone. So can the millions of others like me. Saying that everyone lives in cities is bunk. Tell that to Charlie Ergen at Echostar. He'll laugh at you. Come take a drive with me and I'll show you the thousands upon thousands of people not in a city, without cell coverage, and without adequate television reception. I'll drive you to western Nebraska, where there is no coverage other than along I-80. No people you say? Well, look again. Thousands of ranchers, with huge spreads, and little help. What cost is security for those people? How about their colleauges in Montana, Texas, Wyoming, etc.? What would they pay for security sake? Ever been stuck somewhere with a road miles away? It sucks, let me tell you. The majority of the earth is water, but the rest is not made of concrete. Get out of the city sometime. There is more out there than you'd ever imagine. That's the US. Is it any better up North? No, worse actually. They have money too, by the way. They don't all live in cities either, by the way. |
