MCF.T---New Economy, Pavlov, Cash-It etc- your posts have a familiar ring to them- something like happened on the BII thread and most of the Stockhouse threads - where stocks with high momentum were pumped all the way up and down- Statements like " this stock is toast" ( Cash-it) and " you shorters sure had balls" make me nervous for this thread and for some of the 'new' investors who follow this threads integrity.
Regarding MCF.T- The Globe reluctantly wrote four articles this week- mostly in response to the volume- non of which were supportive of the company or tried to recognise why it is a leader in this Can niche- typically of the G@B- If it's not 'old economy' Blue Chip, Commodities or Manufacture, they don't take the risk of supporting it- especially the internet and Ecom stocks- there are some great Can Ecom stocks- but all are underfunded and underpromoted- look at BII- it's now mostly owned by US investors- the Can press couldn't bail out fast enough and rubbished it all the way down to the 8
Your point about institutions bailing out for 'earnings dilution' is true for value plays, but is certainly not the main criteria for micro- cap stocks like MCF , -growth ,niche market share, revenue and alliances are worth more to the growth MF's- I'm in MCF 2/3 play and 1/3 sort of long.
