Bob, We need to wrap this thing up and get out. There is no good in terms of stability in the southern Balkans if we reduce Serbia to rubble. And the longer that this thing dawdles onward, the more likely that events will take over and the situation could spin out of control.... Remember the Athenian expedition in 431 B.C.. to the Spartan Colony/City of Syracuse on Sicily? The siege started well for the Athenians, they dawdled, Spartan reinforcements arrived, things changed, and it turned into a complete disaster that cost the Athenians the Peloponessian War. The equities of the two sides are equal here IMO- let's make a deal and then get out-pronto ....Another concern is that we'll be stuck with underwriting another occupation force just like SFOR in Bosnia for years to come....
