Packard Bell wanted the low end and tried to take the consumer marketplace by cheap force. They succeeded in hurting themselves in the long run. eMachines is smart...Right now. In the long run, they are either going to join one of the large PC co.s or they are going to die trying to compete with them. As someone has stated, its hard enough to get an expensive PC that doesn't break down every now and then. ;-)

personally, i have a decent dell 400 Mhz pII with a DVD, some others as Xtra and it costs 2 g. it causes me problems every now and then and its annoying but hey, i am used to this stuff. i cant guess to what 500 brings nowadays with so much great stuff out there to take advantage of it? ;-)
