Ref:Rushdie's works---> Hello Satish: '...It is like what they say about Henry James's novels, "once you put them down, very difficult to pick them up again". (I think it was Mark Twain who said this.).. No kiddin',they sure are intimidating if only for the sheer size of the thing (not to forget the style),I started Satanic Verses and my wife finished in 4 days,and me...I still haven't finished it yet.Man, James Joyce comes to mind :) What is with these guys,Vikram Seth's books are enormous too (are they not? A Suitable Boy comes to mind) to the point it is very easy to mistake it for a copy of 'History of the World-Part II' or something.
