*************************To ALL******************************* Statements like " this stock is toast" and " you shorters sure had balls" make me nervous for this thread and for some of the 'new' investors who follow this threads integrity.
I actually share some of your concern. However, the statement of " you shorters sure had balls" is a tribute of praise to the people that 'called it right". This statement was made after the market closed and was a "praise of sorts", just as "good trade" is a statement of credit given for calling it right! The statement of "this stock is toast" is a personal opinion of a direction of a stock with no quantifying parameters which is useless, just as "this stock is going to $12.00 is useless".
All of the following statements are irrelevant to a daytrader and fall into the relm of "investing, pumping or bashing'. As a daytrader I want to know what a stocks "shortterm" prognosis is...when I say shortterm...I mean today, these statements are useless on this thread;
1)this stock is a P&D 2)this stock is going to $12.00 3)this stock is going to $1.00 4)this stock is a piece of crap 5)this stock is a buyout 6)this stock is going brankrupt 7)NR comming out 6 weeks from now...buy buy buy! 8)Rumour has it Nabisco Shreddies is buying Barrick time to get in! 9)Drill results out next week "I have heard they hit the motherload"!
None of us here can see the longterm future of any stock, without guessing. So making statments like this just destroys ones credibility. "Individual assessment of a stocks longterm health is irrelevant in daytrading, period"! The reason is quite clear why we must avoid these statements. One person says the stock is going to $12.00 the other says he's shorting it....an argument insues!!! In daytrading "ya place yur bets, ya takes yur chances"! What I, personally would prefer to see written is;
1) XXX-T in at $2.50 MOMO is good, we could get $3.00 today 2) XXX-T in at $2.50 short, MOMO =0, I think it will hit $1.80
Person 1 does not take offence to person 2's position, person 2 does not take offence to person 1's position. At the end of the day, the winner and loser on stock XXX states the reasons why they did this, and we all learn. We get to "rib" the person that made the wrong prediction, and congratulate the person that makes the correct prediction. More relevant statements to a daytrader are;
1)MOMO is decreasing/decreasing 2)looks like we have hit a peak, and could retrace to the $4.00 support level, I have shorted at $xxx 3)XXX just broke $4.00 a high resistance level, looks like we have a breakout, I am long at $xxx 4)the stock is being flushed down, next Resistance level is $### if it blows that we could be in trouble, I have sold my long positioon and shorted at $xxx 5)NR out this AM for XXX-T...MOMO increasing on speculation of positive results, you can probably get in and out and pick up .25c before the NR comes out!
Something to think about!
