If so, my first impression is that it's a very specific box for interactive multimedia applications, that runs only on certain IBM computers and only under IBM's AIX OS. EMC's storage systems work with many platforms and OSs. However, I'll check it out further this week. Hot product theory shouldn't apply if it's very specific, right? Tiger Shark is a scalable, parallel file system designed to support interactive multimedia applications, particularly large-scale ones such as interactive television (ITV). Tiger Shark runs under the IBM AIX operating system, on machines ranging from RS/6000 desktop workstations to the SP2 parallel supercomputer. Tony
