Okay. I don't have a problem with that. It didn't need to be said - it's obvious they would look at the equity markets an one of the many factors contributing towards monetary policy.

Greenspan rattled financial markets first in December, then again last week after he suggested that stock prices might have risen too far because of investors' "irrational exuberance."

Excuuuuuse me. But terms like that come only from an intent to cause a reaction. It was inflamatory, to say the least.
