This report gives PIII a significant edge on similarly
configured systems {{to K7}} at 600MHz, with PIII a few % better on
Winbench99 / CPUMark99 and ~10% better performance on
FPUWinMark.

What happened to the deeeep pipelines and the multiple execution units, etc. that were going to make Intel an also ran? Maybe this is why AMD and Kryotech are rushing the iceaboxa K7 to market. Cool your beer and your salami sangweech while you compute.
