OFF Topic, I own a '96 Shadow A.C.E., I looked at the Goldwings, but I chose the Shadow because of the styling. It is very reminiscent of the 50s bikes, the old Indians and Harleys. I would have loved to have gotten a Harley Heritage Classic, but the wait was and still is 2 years, and the out of pocket is another $4 thousand or so.
I love the bike, no maintenance problems, no drips, no belt or chain to worry about as it has drive shaft, and runs like a deer.
You might want to take a look at Honda's Valkyrie, it's a heavy cruiser with the same powerplant as the Goldwing, but, in my opinion, much more stylish, not an old man's bike where you and your rider have to wear matching outfits.
