This was not a good week for the semi-equips. The group of 40 is
down 10 percent while the SOX-X is down 6 percent. Six (6) of the
stocks are up, 1 stayed the same and the other 33 stocks are down for
the week.
SFLX which has really taken a beating in the past few weeks,
rebounded this week by 19 percent, taking first place in the group by
a wide margin. Another item of interest is how much of a beating the
4 stocks in the group, AMAT, TER, NVLS, and KLAC, members of the 16
stock SOX-X index, took during the week. They were down 12, 18, 17
and 12 percent respectively. Since the SOX-X was down only 6 percent
for the week, these four stocks had a lot to do with the decline -
others in the group did not fare nearly as bad.
