Mike,

Quote from PCWeek: pcweek.com
Deschutes, will be a Pentium Pro derivative and the company's first chip to support a 100MHz PCI bus and 1MB of cache. That would be a measurable improvement over bus speeds on current processors that peak at 66MHz.

Does that mean that Pentium II (P6SX) is limited to 66Mhz PCI bus speed and 512K L2 cache? Quite a shame!

The Pentium II, due in the second quarter, will support multiprocessing but only up to two processors

This company just could not design a perfect chip right away. There are always something wrong or miss in their CPU architecture designs. To get the patch, you have to buy either a brand new system or a new motherboard/CPU. Both would costs users deerly. Intel treats customers like idiots.

Fuchi ... who loves Cyrix's innovations
