Mr.G. - NBTY - Since I brought up NBTY recently as a possible play, I would like to thank you for you input. I had not listened to the last conference call and you raise a very good issue - should a company plow money into expansion when profits are down and competition is up (sound like a question for AMZN).

I do not think NBTY's stock price is going to start rising tomorrow, but I do think it has the potential to be a good long term play. The stock is down dramatically from its highs. There are reasons for that. You mentioned some of them. The question, when looking at a fallen angel is, can it get back up. They sell products that generally have good profit margins and the demand for these products will most likely rise in the future.

Often when a stock falls a lot the market overreacts. Everything looks bleak, hope of a quick fix are exhausted and everyone moves on. Even great companies, like AOL, have dark days when it looks like they will fold up and blow away. Sometimes, that is the time to buy. Is that the case with NBTY? Perhaps, perhaps not. I think it has potential (long term) but lord knows, I've been wrong before.
