Loki: In my brief paraphase and elaboration of your notes, I did use words which allowed that there could be factors contributing to the loss of earnings other than inflated SG&A expenses. I suggested that the latter might explain a large part of it.

In past posting I, and others, have listed potential explanations of (a) skewed expectations and (b) lower expected profits.
