Wayne - Charismatic was among my top contenders also, and we knew the odds were going to be right in this stampede. Your concern about the quality of the field he beat was one of mine also. A little digging around, however, helped. The same day that Stephen Got Even ran his winning race, five races later in a much smaller stakes for threes the winner, Yankee Victor, won going a mile and sixteenth at a faster pace than Stephen and a final time just about two ticks behind Stephen's. Lo and behold, three weeks later he shows up in Charismatic's race and gets beaten by him by 2 1/2. That did it for me. Hated to see the claiming races for $62 thousand, but I always keep in my mind that horses, and particularly three's, can improve quickly. Even your namesake admitted he underestimated the horse.
