Bob, rereading your original post, I suppose that you are correct, you did not say that Robert would commit atrocities, you merely said that whatever atrocities were committed by whatever regime he happened to live under, he would cheer them on:
If he had lived in the Middle Ages, he would've supported burning heretics. If he had lived in Nazi Germany he would have supported gassing Jews. If he had lived in the USSR under Stalin he would have supported the gulags. And if we were in Kosovo fighting on the side of the Serbs, he would have supported ethnic cleansing.
I still think that that is a bit over the top as an accusation, especially since it implies that the current action in Yugoslavia is similar to the atrocities invoked, but, hey, I am notorious for being a jerk who thinks that there are rules to serious discussion, and that certain lines of attack are inappropriate.
