Yeah, yeah, I know there's all too much incompetence out there. I also recognize that we are of different minds on some of this, but I would point out that the term Machiavellian points out that there are accepted, and in some cases, carefully delineated, methods for pulling the wool over the public's eyes.

Another subject: I've wanted for awhile to point out and explore the curious situation Israel has found themselves in in all of this. The similarities between Kosovo and Palestine are striking. Israel has had to walk a very careful line in this whole situation. (Jestingly) do you think that Milosevic could have avoided this whole thing by simply ignoring the ethnic Albanians and outlawing the KLA, then grudgingly granting them some territory, then sending settlers in to take that territory away, then using the resulting violence as an excuse for oppression? If Israel decides they've had it and they're gonna kick all the Palestinians out, will we bomb them? Then there's the British. It's odd to me that the KLA are freedom fighters, but the IRA are terrorists. Of course it is all relative.

I thought I read the other day that most of the Serbs that were driven out of Bosnia ended up in Kosovo. Is this true? What has that got to do with the current situation?

Just some idle thoughts.
