Morning Jason. The current market maker at the ask may not want to sell 2000 shares at that price. You didn't say if you placed an AON order or not. Other times, they play little head games and let buy orders build so others will think there is no action and may sell their shares. Some market makers will simply ignore all limit orders. Lots of reasons. You need to be a psychiatrist to understand all the games they play.
