TSI TelSys Launches 'LavaLogic' Business Unit

COLUMBIA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 3, 1999--Montreal Exchange "TSI" - TSI TelSys Corporation today announced that its operating subsidiary, TSI TelSys, Inc., has renamed its reconfigurable computing division to "LavaLogic(tm)".
The LavaLogic unit, which began as the reconfigurable computing division of TSI TelSys, Inc., in late 1997, will continue to focus on developing high productivity electronic design automation (EDA) software products. The unit's technical team consists of seven world-class system, integrated circuit and object-oriented software engineers.
The LavaLogic unit is aiming to develop the first product for designers of ASICs and FPGAs (application specific integrated circuits and field programmable gate arrays) that lets them design in the Java(tm) language.
Toby Bennett, Vice President of TSI TelSys, Inc. and General Manager of the LavaLogic business unit said "LavaLogic will be addressing the EDA industry's biggest headache: productivity. Chips keep getting denser and more complex, but design tools have not been keeping pace.
