OT I agree with your op re: "Cookies Fortune" - excellent movie. I especially liked it not going into the oh so predictable 'racism' angle as it could have done. I like movies where the black and white people interact with each other as equals w/out tinges of racism. I also liked there being no political references unless it is an expected part of the subject. I get so tired of going to a movie and having to endure a negative reference to Reagan or Republicans or the right, etc., which has nothing to do with the theme of the movie itself. So much of Hollywood is so much to the left they can't resist a cheap shot every now and then.

I too especially liked "Short Cuts", even more so than "Cookies Fortune", although I thought it a little 'odd' toward the end where the girl bicyclist was murdered-seemed a little too much when compared to the rest of the movie.

We need a movie thread on SI. Is there one?
