STI Increases DataLynx Support Presence

MELBOURNE, Fla., May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Exigent International, Inc.
(Nasdaq: XGNT; CHX: XNT) subsidiary Software Technology, Inc. (STI) today
announced that AlliedSignal Technical Services (ATSC) Corporation, Columbia,
Maryland, has placed new purchase orders in support of their DataLynx(SM)
satellite ground station system. This brings the aggregate agreement between
the two companies to several millions of dollars.
In a February 4th release, Exigent CEO Bernie Smedley, reported that the
Company's flagship software product, OS/COMET(R), had been selected as the
core satellite command and control component for the DataLynx Operations
Center (DOC).
Under the new pact, STI will also provide OS/COMET software, together with
engineering services, for the DataLynx Ground Network Control Center (GNCC),
one of the four major subsystems of the DataLynx Ground Network System (GNS).
OS/COMET "bolt-on" components will integrate the DOC with the system's
unmanned Transportable Autonomous Ground Stations (TAGS).
The DOC and GNCC are integral to the worldwide DataLynx system that is
currently in rapid development by AlliedSignal. Rick Hieb, Director of
Commercial Space for ATSC, said of the agreement, "We believe that the proven
track record of OS/COMET, plus the satellite domain experience of STI
engineers, will help us give DataLynx customers the mission-critical
reliability that we have brought to NASA, DoD, and other customers for over
forty years."
STI Vice President Jim Traficant noted, "As one of the industry's leading
ground system integrators, ATSC is well acquainted with COTS TT&C software
products. It is very significant that when investing internal resources for
DataLynx, ATSC has turned to STI and OS/COMET. We are very pleased to be
selected again to deliver a core DataLynx solution."
AlliedSignal's DataLynx is an innovative venture designed to provide
engineering and operational efficiencies for civil, commercial, and military
space programs. DataLynx gives customers the ability to decrease cost and
risk for their satellite programs by providing satellite ground services such
as Tracking Data Acquisition and Commanding, Satellite Asset Management and
Operations, and Data Processing and Management at a lower cost through shared
facilities and structured utilities-based pricing.
