I do not interject much into this forum, but do monitor it a lot. A lot of RBOC purchasing decisions are based on politics and a strange perspective/fear on leverage over vendors-a cultural problem. Until that cultural problem is changed, there will be no possible logical connection from one decision to another. Hence, US WEST (or any other RBOC) is consistent in scattering business all over the board (why is there no consistent voice switch strategy ?--- a vendor leverage strategy vs. a vendor alliance strategy --IMO). Further IMO, why did CSCO announce a sales slowdown ? Router sales are slowing, yet bandwidth demands are increasing. Where ? In the backbone. The backbone is the Frame Relay/ATM world of the future. Strengths--CSCC. Look at their mission---One Network. Look at their partners/customers. Strong story. To me, CSCC has a powerful story, but given the MM's power, where do you buy in (in my case ---Again)? It sure looks good to me now, but .......Very Interesting.... Thanks, Ken
