Realist - I don't need to impress anyone. These are some of the tools that I use everyday - it's all commonplace for moi. I am also referred to as 'arrogant' by those who don't know me. It's not arrogance - it's confidence that's all. This is the world I live in - which I dare say is different to yours. It's not better - just different. My prime interests are science, theory, math and software. Take a look here if you're interested: wolfram.com I'm aware that 'techies' in the markets use modern analytical and predictive tools. My reference to chaos theory and neural nets is away from the markets - much more science and theory orientated. I also like fuzzy logic and complex systems research. The markets are complex to model as there is a huge human factor involved. In any complex stochastic system - this one variable alone is enough to make the predictive ability of market orientated tools less than reliable. A prime desire for myself and my colleagues is to gain an 'understanding' of the phenomenon we are studying which is done through acquiring knowledge. 'Knowledge' and 'Understanding' are two separate philosophical issues. Quite interesting really. No - I'm not going to sit here and argue with you. Why? If a Martian were to come down and see the two of us arguing he would not be able to tell who the idiot is. I know it's not me :) Have a great week, David :)
