I also wonder what can be accomplished by this stringing-along, keep-everybody-in-the-dark process. It is bound to piss off Pure Gold management; the question is does Ashton have more in mind than just pissing them off. Not exactly sure what is up, but there definitely is a strategy there.

Question is, how can they get away with witholding material information?

Kennecott did the same sort of thing with the Tli Chi Kwo pipe in NWT, and left their junior partners (SUF/KRR/etc.) gasping after a very promising set of earlier diamondiferous samples came up just shy of economic. All along the partners complained about the lack of info. It's as if these larger companies want the whole area play to last for decades, by which time the juniors will have given up and will go looking for gold, or back to picking diamonds out of streams in SA.

You can get away with it if you set the play up such that, as far as anyone knows, you DON'T have anything material to report for awhile. Even if you have to tell the lab people to work VERY, VERY slowly.
Only release when the stock exchange prods you.

Geez, now that I think about it, this is pretty infuriating...I mean surely they could process the core samples faster than this.

Let's face it, Ashton management know a lot more than they're letting on. Has anyone thought about the strategic objectives of the parent company? When will their Argyle mine start to wind down? They are in no hurry.

In the long weeks and months waiting for a play like this to unfold, share prices tend to drift down. They of course can also shoot up on totally unfounded rumours. I will make a prediction. There will be diamonds and lots of them. There will be pipes and lots of them. There will be sickening price volatility, but a general uptrend. You can profit as they find more pipes.

As for economic pipes, the odds have to be considered low...for now.

Good luck to everybody.
