William: When you invest in a company, you invest in management.

Here is an interesting quote for you..

<<And in an interview, Compaq Chairman Ben Rosen said he had been concerned for nearly two years that the company was not fulfilling its potential.>> --ZDnet

Board members have a fiduciary responsibility to do more than be concerned. MSD seeks out input and TAKES ACTION. He also admits that his company is not perfect and makes mistakes. Look how quickly DELL can correct mistakes and modify strategies. Contrast that with Compaq. Rosen recently stated that CPQ had a good strategy but bad execution. Most industry experts, analysts, and fund managers disagree. They would contend that CPQ had a BAD strategy (that was not focussed) and was executed poorly. The buck stops with the Chairman IMO. He is captain of the ship. Its not all 5fer's fault at CPQ. I would count on MSD, Mort, Kevin, and TM any day of the week. They set the standard as a top management team in the entire high tech industry. There is only one hardware stock to own -- that is clearly DELL. End of story.

Best Regards,

Scott
