Since it sounds as though RealNetwork's is willing to incorporate any major secure/compressed format, I'm curious why EPAC hasn't been added. It is always possible that they are holding out to release it later (as we very well know, news fuels momentum & adds support when momentum starts to fade). Or, could it be that to be added to the "RealSystem MP" support you have to fork over some royalty fees or sign a similar agreement (and maybe Lucent isn't yet willing to do such given they have a few tactical moves up their sleeves)?

After having read BuzzVA's comments I'm in complete agreement that becoming a distribution portal is RNWK's primary goal (as I stated previously) & it is very likely they will be adding EPAC. The question is when & at what costs.

"RealNetworks, Inc. (Nasdaq: RNWK), the recognized leader in the streaming media market, today announced they have teamed up to add Liquid Audio's music e-commerce capabilities to the new RealNetworks RealSystem MP digital music architecture."
