Have you guys come up with any 'new' excuses to stay on top of the product cycle?

I do a little PC upgrading and repair on the side and use the proceeds to fuel my habit. Works for me. No computer money comes out of the family budget unless it is reimbursed via "Mike's Computing."

Another option is to sell stuff.

And finally, if you match your spending dollar-for-dollar for her to spend on stuff like trips to see her mother, it keeps you from getting your eyes scratched out.
