Russett, I like your vision of the event and I agree that it is hard not to come to the conclusion you have suggested for the possibility of diamonds. Here is a Boulay answer to a question I asked in early April:

Now re-read the Boulay/Jesse message that Jesse re-posted from mid-March:

“ For a while, the location of pyroclastic production pipes will be important as ore guides to the big layered deposits. In fact, our current exploration programs are focused on locating pipe vents (aka "kimberlite pipes").”

While this may not be a total contradiction, it is confusing when you are trying to understand Ricks' geological model and exploration method. Maybe the answer to my question should have been “who cares! We are looking for concentrations of metal bearing sulfites!”

At the recent Ashton Mines AGM, they showed a neat graphic showing fault line intersects with kimberlites they have drilled. All of the important diamond bearing kimberlites were along the fault lines. Austin indicated that this was significant and a source of inspiration in their exploration model. I wonder if fault lines will be important to this model as well.
