I agree that the K-7 is much better than the PIII and it may be up to 20% faster if everyting was equal.

In fact if the roles were reversed then I would agree that AMD was dead meat if Intel had a P-7 coming out.

Unfortunately Intel has a faster process, better MB/chipset infrastructure etc. So if we say that their process is 20% faster then that may well negate the 20% better architecture argument.

My expectation is that the K7 will allow AMD to catch up to Intel in overall performance by year end.

If they can deliver any volumes the upside is tremendous.

And thats why I am still long the stock.
