Well, Tek has been turning and burning on the video networking for some time now. It has not really developed any fruit yet, but they sure are committed to the concept. They have introduced some very nice non-linear video editing equipment in the past year or so, but no barn burners. The real strength Tek is showing is in the color printer business. It may seem odd that a company that gained its fame in instrumentation is a dominant player in the color printing market, but it is. I feel that it will continue to play a strong role there, as well as contine to grow, slowly, its more traditional instrumentation business. Funny, that market has been "dying" for some time now, but it still make good money for Tek and others. I hear some rumors that there will be some major new introductions into that market by Tek soon. No guesses about when though.
It is a completely different company than it was just 5 years ago, so there is no telling what is next for it.
Just one ex-Tekkies humble opinion..... |
