Comments on coming ACC meeting...
I cannot wait for the ACC meeting... we will, certainly, have NO data on the multicenter trial (although my understanding is that they are trying to finish the 120 study patients by end of April 1997).
On the other hand, there is always potential for important new findings. For example other benefits of EECP (used by chinese for many other indications than improved coronary perfusion). Particularly, I am still looking for improvements in patients with tinnitus (persistent loud noise in their ears), possibly stroke cases, and possibly even improvement in "lack of feelings" in feet as the Mr. Murphy case report hinted at...
The latter finding would be great news if EECP works in some peripheral neuropathies, or vascular insufficiencies in the legs...
Let's wait and see... potential is there for NEW finding, rather than continuing confirmation of EECP on cardiac perfusion...
then again... there might be NO abstract on EECP presented at the meeting... tough to believe, though, when many EECP centers are working now.
