Will you have fish fry tonight?

So many rhodies grow in this part of the world that I let others plant because we have more than our share. They came with the house. I'm not a big fan of rhodies. I am happy that other people plant them.

We always thought the colors of those in front were gaudy so that is why I turned them into trees. We have three versions of gaudy pink to acceptable pink and an okay purple in front.

I admit I planted the small balls of white because they are evergreen like the others in front so they keep their leaves all winter.

Two of my favorites are small pink ones, not mentioned above, that bloom in January or February. They are deciduous so they lose their leaves. I would like to buy another one next year. These ones are small, like the whites expect they look like upright bushes. The color is wonderful!

I also planted a small rhody that has orange/red flowers. It is an evergreen and its leaves are also tinged with orange.

I've planted three small yellow ones in the back, but they have not done well because of bugs. I have learned that you can buy a spray. I'll have to do that. I've got a large pretty pink rhody in back.

Oh yeah, and I have two small red rhodies in a tub in front on my paving strip that I will re-landscape.

So for someone who is not that crazy about rhodies, we have purchased a few! (giggle)

PS: Is Gaugin a painter? Where does Gaugin live?
