Hello, Sun Tzu. Funny meeting a nice guy like you on a thread like this! Just visiting? Anyway, to your point--Intel's investment also includes their own R&D and fab preparations in support of DRDRAM. Important? The question is whether any other technology is close to being able to support the next generation of chips, at the 1 gig and higher speeds. Rambus is the only game in town, so it had better work or Intel is sucking wind on their high end. And it is a lot easier to implement and learn on the first generation of the chip, rather than wait for faster iterations. Intel can't "leap frog" on this.
