The reason for the move:

Last Tuesday's WSJ ran a story about Howard Penney, who had recently completed a study on the stocks of the Russell 2000. The result? "This year, through Friday, you would have made a nifty 24.2% return if you had bought only stocks of the 190 companies in the index that are expected to lose money or, at best, earn no profit for 1999." Foolish enough to buy the 1,494 Russell stocks that are expected to earn a profit? Down 1.1%

Keep those losses coming.

Of course, I'm just kidding. Congrats to the longs, you deserve every penny. Hope the momentum players get ahold of this one and run it to 35.
