OK. Now I have had it with Fidelity too.

Effective 4/26/99, they now charge a separate commission for each limit order for the same security in a given day.

In other words if I put limits to buy to buy 100 shares of XYZ at 10, 10 1/8, 10 1/4, 10 3/8, and 10 1/2 and they all got executed, I now have to pay $75 commission instead of $15. I know most firms charge for each, but this feature is what kept me with Fidelity.

This follows an increase in their option commissions a few months ago.

I am looking for suggestions. I will do a minimum of about 400 stock trades and 200 option trades this year.

What in the world are these folks thinking - raising prices when the rest of the market is lowering them?

I have generally been satisfied with the service, but this change effectively doubles my annual commission bill.
