Bob, since I am an investor in EMC as well, I am following this change in business direction quite closely, and it is intriguing, particularly since part of McData formerly was part of HP.

I see the announcement as a negative for EMC, since that agreement with HP contributing strongly, and quickly, to EMC growth, while eliminating a competitor of standing. Now, in addition to losing HP as a revenue source, HP is bringing that revenue source to HDS, just as HDS is launching a huge effort in fibre channel, and EMC has touted its fibre channel connectivity sales in the last several quarters.

More importantly for us Ancor shareholders, HP aligning with HDS, and Ancor being the only switch vendor announced thus far as part of the HDS Freedom offering, this looks to me very much like an HP OEM with Ancor, although the build will come through HDS. So, being quite long in this Ancor stock, I am delighted to see this development, albeit at the expense of our investment in EMC.
