Stitch-

Given my antipathy toward governments in general, I hardly find it surprising that government largesse toward FOM (Friend of Mahadir) finds its way into uneconomically remunerative ventures. How are Photons selling these days? That FOM are of the "right" ethnicity is a surprise only to Bambi.

Meanwhile, does anyone have any insight into whether or not this poses a serious problem to the Japanese government? Could it really cause a mass selloff of US Treasuries held by Japanese institutions?

P.S. I've lost the reference- but could probably find it again if pushed. In any case, there was a report in the Wash Post last week that the th- er security forces- in China were busying themselves rounding up suspected dissidents and throwing them in jail on suspicion they might do something to commemorate the anniversary of the Tienamen Square Massacre (said massacre which I believe the government of China still denies). Impressive how acrimoniously- but without intellectual engagement- some people react when the current government in China is referred to as an "heir" to the Butchers of Beijing.
