OK. So we know that now, after the fact. Were there reliable signs while the price was still high, so one could sell at a decent price ?

Someone posted to me that the yahoo breakout was tainted because it failed to make a new high. But then AMZN exceeded the old high by 10%, and closed 5% above the old high. So is there a way to tell ? There were people who shorted at 205. I wonder what gave them the confidence ?
