Rex and Thread,

I wanted to state the obvious here, only because it hasn't been stated before.

It is curious that small companies such as Lexar, SSTI and the numerous card assemblers produce CF, yet Toshiba, Hitachi, Samsung and Intel do not.

There are only two conclusions one can draw...

First, these companies are betting on competing standards and feel that CF will be a commodity with no money in it for anyone.

Second, each of these companies signed a non-compete clause at the time of their respective co-licensing agreements.

Personally, I subscribe to the second theory.
