TTI Telecom Signs Significant Contract With Startec Global Communications
- Startec furthers TTI Telecom's penetration into the telecommunications industry -
PETACH TIKVA, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 4, 1999-- TTI Telecom Ltd. (NASDAQ/NM Symbol: TTILF - news), a leading provider of integrated, turnkey software solutions for telecom service providers, today announced that it has signed a significant contract with Startec Global Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: STGC - news; ''Startec''), an international telecommunications carrier providing services to ethnic communities in major urban centers in North America and Western Europe. TTI Telecom will provide a full Netrac-based network management solution, including fault management, an SS7 surveillance system, configuration management, CDR-based applications, and performance monitoring. TTI Telecom will install the network management solution over the next several quarters.

Under the agreement, TTI Telecom will supply Startec with an open platform for monitoring their traffic, collecting data and tracking network usage in real-time, while increasing its flexibility and responsiveness for customers. TTI Telecom's turnkey solution gives Startec the capability to manage the hardware of different equipment providers used in its network and to monitor its planned worldwide ATM network. Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) is emerging as the primary networking technology for next-generation, multi-media communications with protocols designed to handle video and telephony (audio), in addition to more conventional data communications.
